Level 2 STA Award in Teaching Swimming
Overview
This the perfect step to begin your exciting career as a swimming teacher and with no previous experience required, you can get started right away.
This qualification develops the vocational skills and technical knowledge, once qualified you can independently teach non-swimmers and improver child and adult swimming lessons.
Prerequisites
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Hold current membership of STA
Level 2 Award in Baby & Pre School Swimming Teaching
Overview
If you would like to be a part of a baby’s first steps into the water and help make their experience the best they can possibly have, then teaching babies and young children is for you!
With lots of singing and encouragement, you will develop and assist in ensuring your participants enjoy their first experience within an aquatic environment where you will see how rewarding this can be.
Prerequisites
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Hold current membership of STA
- Hold the STA Safety Award for Teachers or Equivalent
- Hold the STA Safeguarding, Children, Young People & Vulnerable Adults Certificate or Acceptable Equivalent
Level 2 STA Safety Award for Teachers Courses
Overview
This qualification is for all Swimming Teachers which gives you the basic rescue skills and techniques including basic First Aid and Resuscitation skills based around swimming lesson delivery. Renewable every two years ensuring your skills and knowledge are up to date.
Prerequisites
- Be 14 years of age or older
- Be able to swim 25m
- Be able to surface dive and recover an object from the deepest part of the pool
