We are delighted to announce that our very own Joan O' Sullivan, Swimtime's Group Qualifications Manager, has been recognised by the British Franchise Association (BFA) as a Community Hero.
The Community Hero award is the brainchild of BFA Chief Executive Pip Wilkins and HSBC's Head of Franchising, Andy Brattesani. It looks to recognise the efforts of key members of a Franchise team who have gone above and beyond in these difficult times.
Joan was nominated by Swimtime Operations Director, Rachel Brooks, for her incredible dedication to Swimtime's family of Franchisees, Teachers and Customers during the COVID 19 pandemic.
In March 2020, Swimtime faced a total nationwide suspension of swimming lessons for almost 6 months. Joan was instrumental in ensuring that guidance was interpreted and necessary training was undertaken to ensure lessons could restart safely, as soon as possible.
Over the period, Joan has been responsible for training over 850 individuals remotely, navigating constantly changing guidance and a great deal of uncertainty.
Rachel Brooks said: "Joan has showed incredible dedication to Swimtime over the most challenging period in the Company's 20 year history. The commitment and passion shown by our team means Swimtime has a bright future ahead of it. Without Joan's invaluable contribution, this simply would not have been possible. There is no doubt in my mind, Joan is a true hero and I am delighted to hear she has been recognised by the BFA."
