Shaw Method of Swimming
A modern approach to swimming using the principles of the "Alexander Technique". The Shaw Method's fundamental principal is based on proficient swimming having more to do with letting go, than it does about putting in effort to try harder.

It not only improves efficiency in the water, but it transforms your way of approaching water, encouraging a more mindful or meditative way of being.

Classes would be either 1:1 (30 minutes) or in groups (maximum 6 people) for 45 minutes.

Linda Price is the North West co-ordinator for The Shaw Method of Swimming, working closely with its founder, Steven Shaw. She holds one day workshops 3 times per year, and organises swimming holidays abroad for people who wish to learn the Shaw Method.

Unfortunately there are not enough Shaw Method teachers in the UK to enable Swimtime to offer these lessons in all clubs. So please email us here so that we can give you more details.

"Swimming should be playful, reflective, meditative - a break from our fast and pressured lives" - Steven Shaw.
